Overcoming Health Challenges
Before she took control of her health, Jen’s life was a storm of extremes and quiet suffering.
Physically:
- Living off soda, chips, and junk food, with little thought to long-term health.
- Going from extremely skinny (from drug use) to significantly overweight in a very short time due to pregnancies and poor nutrition.
- Dealing with uncontrolled blood sugar, gestational diabetes, and constant fatigue.
- Nearly slipping into a diabetic coma, unable to stand, feeling like the room was spinning out of control.
Emotionally & mentally:
- Ignoring warning signs and pretending she wasn’t feeling bad, pushing down the fear.
- Living in denial because slowing down to face reality felt scarier than continuing on autopilot.
- Feeling trapped by her own habits—addiction, cigarettes, food choices—yet also feeling the weight of responsibility as a mom and wife.
Her life was “go, go, go” on the outside, but internally she was exhausted, scared, and disconnected from her own body.
