Plank Pose

Plank pose builds upper and core body strength, lengthens the spine and strengthens the low back muscles.

Contraindications: Recent or chronic injury to the arms, back or shoulders.

Modifications: 

Bend both knees to the floor.

Make it a standing plank with a wall, counter or chair.

Variations: To build more core strength use the Low Plank variation (as shown above)

Baked Apples

Deliciously simple and low in sugar.

Ingredients:

4-5 small or 2-3 large apples, peeled, cored and sliced

2-3 tbsp Ground Cinnamon, liberal to taste

1 tbsp Honey, if absolutely necessary

2 tbsp Coconut Oil or unsalted Butter

2 tbsp water, coconut water or hydrosol of rose or jasmine

8 in to 13 in glass or metal baking dish

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350*

Mix everything in the pan and place in oven.

Bake for 45min to 1 hour until apples are soft and bubbly

 

Simple exercises to do anytime.

Hold each pose for 30 seconds to one minute while breathing as slowly as possible through the nose.

Use a chair to help with balance and to keep a foot up.

The NATURE of Movement and Meditation.

We’ll begin class with deep breathing, energy building, and gentle stretching warm-ups. Class continues with a unique blend of Tai Chi, Yoga, Qigong, and Tae Kwon Do style movements performed in a slow and controlled flow. Then we finish each class with a cool down and seated hand posture practice.

Anyone and everyone of any ability are always welcome! This aerobic class can be performed while seated or standing.
